Everyman

Everyman - A morality play

Yes. I when we go through literature we have chance to enjoy dramas. But dam part is if we have pass the exam we have to describe it also. So many student just only enjoy reading it. But I think it not the better part. Better and exciting part is give our own idea about the drama. It is the best description. I think it is the funny part in our literature life.
OK.That is enough. In here today I'm going to describe EVERYMAN(If you are not familiar with this drama click here to read it first ) by my own words, To give my idea about the drama. OK now we are ready to start.

First here I have given you a question regarding the drama and here I have also answered it.
Question:
Would you the theme of everyman is applicable to the modern society? Justify your answer.

Again I suggest you to read drama first and create your own answer and then compare with my answer.May your answer will better than what I have given.

Answer :
The play everyman emphasizes the fact that out the bad and good deeds' influence human life at the end.Its shown to us through Everyman's character who of course represents the ordinary man. Therefore it is applicable to the modern society.
When can understand the life style of Everyman through the following lines.
"Everyman lives only for their own pleasure, and yet their own life is not assured"
"They devour one another with jealousy, forget charity to their fellowmen, and become preoccupied with met"

These lines tell us that everyman is very selfish, so that he tries to materialize his hopes in undue ways.He used the injustice to achieve more games. He is a man who doesn't die at all. In his words he can make use of wealth to solve his problems. It can be understood when he tries ti bible death in order to extent his life span . He says.
"I'll give you whatever you want if you'll be kind to me - a thousand dollars if you'll leave"

His view is money can make all wrongs right. Therefore he goes on collecting money in the hope it would help him in any trouble. But all his hopes scattered and all his attempts were in vane. The drama puts before us a picture of a corrupted man and makes us hate him. We also notice how unfortunate he is at the end of his life. All his friends and those around him forsake him telling various reasons.
When we study the character of - Everyman we feel that there are many people in our society who have same behavioral patterns. They engage in undue work such as anti-social activities and illegal. They have no care are about others and helpful to others too. During their lifetime they try to be strong and powerful and have lots of friends around them. When they are powerless we see how they disappear and abandon him. What we understand is that as for as a person has more power band wealth he can have lots of friends just like Everyman. Therefore it is suitable to say the theme of Everyman can be applicable to the society.
